Public Posts by Adopted Child for Biological ParentsSeveral times, we have seen articles in Thai newspapers by an adopted child or their adoptive parents searching for the biological mother and/or father in Thailand, whereby they publish the name(s) of the parent(s) listed on their birth certificate. In many cases, this can be counterproductive. Sometimes it can be okay, but some other times it can be very questionable. Whether or not it is appropriate depends upon the circumstances of the parent(s) putting the child into the care of the state. For example, an article posted in 2017 in an online newspaper which allows visitors to leave comments has received a lot of postings by people in the general public saying very bad things about the Thai biological parents regarding their abandonment of their child. Internet public postings can expose people to some of the worst people in the world, and not turn out as optimistically imagined. Of course, most people reading the article are not experts with experience in adoption, and many people enjoy trolling the internet. The result can be:
Of course, if the latter two happen, it can affect the long term result negatively. Simply posting a newspaper article is not a smart thing to do, nor considerate of the biological parents. The same applies to posting publicly on the internet about particular people by name. The best approach is to first try discreet research to find the birth parents, and discreetly try to contact them, either by yourself or possibly using professional investigators experienced in tracing people and who know the best ways to approach the Thai biological mother and/or father. You may want to start with the most discreet method first and give that some time. For example, you can start with the most discreet method, and if that doesn't work, then try the next method which is the next most discreet. That can be a lot better than trying everything at once or trying the most public methods first. > CAREFUL about public postsYou can reach us any way you wish -- the contact form on this website, by email, by phone, or by office walk-in (preferably with an appointment in advance, for your sake in order to make sure I'm there at the moment, the native English speaker and the Director).
